A quick answer

vidIQ documents AI drafts, Start from Frame and an editor. In the Studio, upload your video file, optionally choose an original frame and revise AI drafts through chat. An original frame alone is not exclusive.

Starting point

Check where your video enters the workflow.

Frame

Decide whether you want a generated scene.

Revisions

Compare the text and image changes you need.

We provide Content Studio. Manufacturer documentation: Thumbnail Builder checked on 1 October 2026; credit rules on 2 October 2026. Not our own live product test; no established quality or CTR advantage. Check the current coverage of your vidIQ offering.

How to approach it

01

Choose material

Select a video and relevant moment.

02

Compare modes

Separate frames from generation.

03

Define editing

List text and subject changes.

04

Review the export

Check the image separately from channel use.

Review the original moment

A frame can suit a real expression or specific action. Check sharpness and space for text.

Studio original-image mode avoids regenerating the person in your selected frame.

Channel tools and project work

Consider your existing channel workflow. An additional application should help with a concrete task.

The Studio starts with your file without YouTube URL import. It does not run a live channel A/B test.

What vidIQ revisions consume

vidIQ documents a shared AI credit pool: creating, regenerating or editing a thumbnail uses 22 credits each. Clipping uses nine credits per input minute. If you use both, account for their combined usage.

Check available credits and feature access separately. According to vidIQ, extra credits do not unlock features from higher plans. Its help notes that existing accounts may have different limits during the rollout. Credit documentation checked on 2 October 2026.

Studio tokens and vidIQ credits cannot be compared one for one. Plan a draft, the revisions you need and an export for the same video file, then check usage and plan access for that workflow.
